Dimitrius Hutcherson

First Independence Bank

Dimitrius Hutcherson works as President for First Independence Bank.  In this role, he leads all internal bank compliance/ regulatory activities and oversees execution of the budgeting and strategic planning process. Hutcherson also manages the day-to-day bank operations and works with key stakeholders including regional, large banks, corporate partnerships, and retail customers.  He is a member of the Bank’s IT Committee, HR/Compensation Committee, Audit Committee, Asset/Liability Committee, Nomination/Governance Committee and External Affairs Committees.      

Dimitrius has prior work experience in senior level roles at PNC Financial Services Group, Deloitte Services, LP, Freddie Mac, and JP Morgan Chase. 

Dimitrius is an Independent Director and IT Committee Member (since 2023) at Internet Sciences, Inc. (ISI) and Vertus Energy, Inc.,  Board Member and Treasurer, Harvard Business School Club of Michigan; Board Member, Board member, Michigan Strategic Fund (Gubernatorial Appointment), where he chairs the Finance and Investment Sub Committee, Board Chair, Michigan Roundtable on Diversity & Inclusion; Vice Chair, RacquetUp – Detroit;  Board Member, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation; Board Member, Matrix Human Services Board Member Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan, Board member, OIC of America, Inc. and Board member, the Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation. 

Dimitrius earned a BA degree in Finance, cum laude, at Morehouse College and an MBA in Finance and Business Strategy from the Harvard Business School.
