Radha Krishnan, president of Detroit Engineered Products (DEP), earned his BSME from the Indian Institute of Technology, and his MSME from the University of Toledo. He worked at GM before founding DEP and leading the entry and support of major OEMs. DEP has 180+ employees in Michigan and 450 globally focused on advanced engineering simulation technologies used by global OEMs and supported by DEP’s MeshWorks engineering software platform.
Radha’s current responsibilities include a focus on growing DEP’s expertise across multiple product lines and industries for both OEMs and major Suppliers. Radha has a keen interest and focus on research and development aimed at reducing Mechanical design and product development cycle time. Invention and innovation remain key DNA characteristics of the company with the delivery of several unique products each year.
DEP has sites in 6 countries and software partners throughout Europe supporting the growth of DEP’s Engineering Services and the MeshWorks software platform containing modules for CAD/CAE Morphing, Meshing, CAE Process Automation, and Weld Optimization. DEP celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier in 2019 and continues to expand in multiple major industries.
More recently, Radha has led the company’s development of expertise for electrified powertrains, drones for specialized applications, mechanized hand-tools, engine sensors for better fuel economy and reduced emissions, electric scooters, and other novel products that are part of leading market trends.
