Arthur McClellan is Director of Supplier Diversity and Development at Lear Corporation where his responsibilities include the administration and management of Lear’s Supplier Diversity Program. Prior to Lear, he was Head of Supplier Diversity and for Valeo North America. Prior to joining Valeo, he was Managing Partner at Diversity In Promotions (DIP), an organization that specializes in Diversity Consulting and Business Development. He also worked as Director of Business Development for The Rickman Enterprise Group.
Prior to Rickman Enterprise Group, Mr. McClellan was Purchasing Manager at General Motors where he had global responsibility for Training/Education and Export Compliance for GM’s Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) organization.
Mr. McClellan also served as Supplier Diversity Manager for General Motors where he had overall responsibility for the recruitment and development of diverse suppliers as well as implementation of GM’s Small Business Program.
Mr. McClellan has also worked as a Senior Buyer within the GPSC organization.
A strong commitment to serving his community is evidenced by Mr. McClellan’s service as a City Councilman for the City of Pontiac from 2003-2009. He was elected as President of the Pontiac City Council by his colleagues and served in this position from 2006-2009.
Mr. McClellan worked for the City of Pontiac, preceding his career with GM, in the Department of Community Development dealing with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. He was later appointed Chief Procurement Officer and served in this capacity until he joined GM in 1999.
