Choctaw-Kaul Distribution Company
Session: MBE Track: Tomorrow's Strategy for Building A Sustainable Business Today
Kenny Tubby is the President and CEO of Choctaw-Kaul Distribution Company (CK) which is a company he put together by acquiring Kaul Safety International and merging it with Choctaw Glove in 1998. The integration of glove maker with a North American safety product distribution company fit like a glove. In bringing the two companies together, production volumes increased, through-put cost was reduced and the bottom line improved for Choctaw-Kaul and our customers because we were able to be more competitive as an integrated manufacturer and distributor. The foundation of CK’s business was built on helping automotive manufacturers protect their employees from injury and illness with our gloves and safety products.
Over the past two decades Kenny worked diligently to diversify our products and our customer base to ensure the viability of our company. He expanded our product offerings to include general industrial supplies such as maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) materials, hand and power tools, janitorial supplies and electrical and gas distribution equipment to become a comprehensive material integrator for our customers. He hired product experts and expanded technical support services such as training and materials management programs to be a better partner to our customers. By doing so CK has been successful in attracting and retaining customers from many industries. Today we have the privilege to serve to automotive manufacturers, energy generation and distributions companies, food processors, logistics companies, industrial manufacturers, oil and chemical companies, steelmakers, construction companies.
Kenny’s mission for CK is to be valued as a trusted supply partner with mutually aligned objectives around safety, quality, performance, and cost efficiency.
