Gary Schkade

Mr. Schkade is President of AMBE Engineering, LLC where he focuses on Business Development, New Platform Origination and Corporate Strategy. He has extensive international experience with multi-dimensional product engineering and business development expertise. His automotive industry progression has been from research through current product development, portfolio business analysis, strategy development and implementation.

He previously was Vice GM for an exhaust components and systems manufacturer in China in addition to being a member of SAE International’s China Automotive Standards Advisory Council. Prior to this, he launched and was the General Manager of SAE’s Shanghai Operation WOFE, leading SAE’s operations and business development for the Asia-Pacific region. He also advanced special initiatives in Mobility Electronics and Open Innovation.

Before SAE International, Mr. Schkade was with General Motors, starting at the GM Research Laboratories working in Advanced Powertrains and then Chassis Systems. He became a Section Head in Systems Engineering. Subsequent positions included Engineering Group Manager with the GM Truck Group followed by Resident Manager for Truck Product Development at the GM Proving Grounds in Arizona in the United States.

Mr. Schkade has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University and a MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
